Meet Me In The Dark - JA Huss

This is Merric Case's book..and if you don't know who he is...allow him to introduce himself--

"I am Merc and there are three things you should know about me. Number one. You might be bigger, but I will last longer. Number two. If you fuck me, I fuck everything you ever loved. And number three. I never lose. My victory is only delayed." ~ Merric Case

This is a 5+star read! A Must read and a great addition to "The Company" stories  and  Merric proves to be a very complicated man.

I am blown away! J.A. Huss has written an outstanding book for Merc's story!  This book is a twisting-winding-full of secrets-type of book you will truly think you have fallen down the rabbit hole..but As Sydney says..."Be the Rabbit".

"He might be a monster, but it’s dark in here. And if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s live in the dark. I’ve met the monsters there so many times, it’s familiar. And familiar is always better than new."~ Sydney

As I said before, this is the story we finally get to meet Merc, the unstoppable assassin who cares for nobody but himself and Sasha...right? He is out for blood and the only way to get it is to go through a person, Sydney.  Sydney is on the Eve of her wedding, so why does she get into her truck and drive away..what is causing her to flee? Who is waiting for her on a snowy mountain road - her savior or her captor or are they the same person? Will she finally be chosen? Can she come out of the darkness and find her way in the light? Every moment, every memory, every thought (real or fantasy) has lead to this now she just has to believe and hush.

“Moments are permanent. You can’t take them back or change them. You can only make new ones.” – Case

Merc proves that although you can't go back In time and change the past..sometimes fully understanding a situation will alter it better than going back and changing it.  Sometimes you have to let people prove themselves and sometimes you have to take a chance.

If you are new to Huss' writing then you really need to start back at the beginning of this entire trip with Rook and Ronin where it all begins..then move on to Slack & Taut, after you finish them it's time to meet James Fenici in the Dirty, Dark, and Deadly series (three books) and then read Meet Me In The Dark (MMITD) -- the stories will make so much more sense if read this way.
