Rule of reporting 101-- don't bang your subject.

Sophie Hall has just gotten the opportunity of a lifetime--to profile Nathan Ryder, the hottest baseball player since A-Rod, for her first solo assignment as a reporter. Rumor has it Nathan is going to be drafted to the Major league, and yet he still fits an intense training regime around volunteering at a animal shelter. He's a prodigy with a heart of gold, as American as apple pie and has an ass that deserves a trophy all its own. He may be the country's heartthrob, but Sophie isn't going to fall for that. She just has to remain objective and cover the story.

But she didn't bet on Nathan's gorgeous green eyes or the way his arms flex with muscle when he's holding a bat. And she certainly didn't think he'd be witty and smart and caring. Nathan is completely untouchable, but she can't help it if those lingering gazes turn into something more. How could she not fall at the thought of the hottest guy she's ever met devoting his limited free time to saving puppies?

When Sophie's scoop turns into Nathan's scandal, Nathan needs her more than ever. With both of their careers on the line will they strike out - or hit a home run?

Review
5 purrfect innings

Sorry if my review caption has confused you. Although the blurb that I copied from Goodreads says that Nathan devotes his limited free time to saving puppies, in the book I received it was kittens. Nathan is a baseball player and a pitcher at that, thus the perfect innings.
This story is one that should not be overlooked. It is sweet and has just enough “Saucy” to make you chuckle out loud. Yes you will have to read the book to understand the “Saucy” reference.
Nathan, don’t call him Nate is a college baseball player on the fast track to the major leagues. He is just an all around sweet guy who doesn’t think that he is newsworthy. Sophie’s first big story is a feature article on Nathan. The first time that they met Nathan didn’t know that Sophie was the reporter sent to do the story on him. Sophie was in a bar drowning her sorrows in shots of tequila because her ass of a boyfriend just dumped her during a phone call. The banter between Nathan and Sophia is hot and flirtatious, but when a drunk Sophie tells Nathan that she is the reporter who is going to be interviewing him, he becomes pissed and embarrassed.
Sophia has to put on her professional reporter cap, while Nathan wears his baseball cap. She has to get her story from the tight lipped Nathan, she has to win his trust or her career may just be over.
