#gaymers book one
Annabeth Albert
Releasing Dec 7th, 2015
Carina Press

Adrian Gottlieb is winning at life. He’s a successful video game designer with everything a man could ask for, including a warm comfy ride to Denver and a date for his sister’s wedding. But he finds himself in need of a total reboot when he's left stranded at a snowy campground in Utah. Holiday plans? Epic fail.

That is until Noah Walters offers him shelter for the night and a reluctant cross-country ride. Nothing about the ultraconservative geoarchaeologist should attract Adrian, but once he discovers Noah’s hidden love for video games, the two connect on a new level. Soon, a quiet but undeniable chemistry sparks.

Something doesn’t add up, though. As the miles accumulate and time runs out, Noah must face the most difficult choice of his life. Meanwhile, Adrian must decide whether he’s ready to level up. Is their relationship status worth fighting for, or has this game ended before it's even begun?

REVIEW:
This was my first book by author Annabeth Albert and I have to admit I was impressed by the way she set up the story, paid attention to details, and provided a unique storyline.   In this story we have Noah Walters, a traveling geoarchaeologist who is on sabbatical from teaching and who also is so conservative he is almost repressed.   Contrast to him Adrian Gottlieb, video game designer, out and proud.  When fate brings these two together at an isolated campground in Utah neither of them anticipated being together any longer than necessary.  However, fate and destiny are in play and these two may not know it yet but their relationship status has just been changed.

It was fun to watch Adrian and Noah get to know each other and see how they sorta rubbed off on each other.   Noah learns to accept and embrace his sexuality while Adrian learns that not everything has to have instant gratification.  If you are looking for a book full of sexual situations then this book probably is not for you as the author really does a slow burn style of book.  There are some between the sheets moments but they simply add to the book not make up the story. The characters in this book were well thought out and fully developed.  The plot was timed well and overall even though it was an “instalove” style book, which I usually don’t enjoy very much, this book had enough depth that it worked well.
