“The dogs that deserved a chance, the guy who needed a second, and the girl determined to save him.”

My name is Emma Sawyer.

I met Charlie and Wyatt on the same sultry, summer day. It was unexpected, leaving a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the time I drove too fast over Beckett Hill. The moment happened out of nowhere, all fast and quick and a little strange. Or maybe that was just Wyatt’s personality.

It was Charlie that brought us together. Little Charlie with those ridiculous ears. I found the dog, waiting in a pool of his own blood. Waiting for someone. Waiting for me.

Now Wyatt, he wasn’t waiting for anyone. At least that’s what he said, except I saw something different in the broken guy all alone out in the woods. I knew he needed me before he knew it himself.

Wyatt with his hidden dimples. Wyatt with his warnings to stay away. He was a hard lump of coal, ready to burn everything around him. The more he burned, the more it pulled me into the pain I saw etched on his troubled face.

I wanted to help Wyatt. I wanted to save him like he had saved all the Charlies in the world. He told me not to fall for him, but I did anyway. I fell hard and fast and deeply in love with Wyatt Caulfield.

But that was before I knew his secret.

Author Note: Waiting for Wyatt is the love story of Wyatt Caulfield and Emma Sawyer, which also features rescue animals. It’s a 112,000 word standalone, Contemporary Romance / New Adult Novel.

Young Adult Romance

5 out of 5 tug at your heartstrings stars!

Review:

Wyatt and Emma have a story like I haven’t read in long long time. It pulled at this reader’s heartstrings so much that several times I had to wipe away the tears while reading this book!!

Wyatt, is what Emma assumes is the caretaker at the Red Dirt Claws Rescue.  He’s quiet and after meeting him you might think he’s got a life of secrets he’s keeping locked up in himself.  The day Emma show’s up with Charlie ( a little abused dog she rescued?) might just be what will change Wyatt’s  outlook on life.

Emma is full of questions that he just doesn’t want to answer. But she’s got her own issues, she’s got a twin sister (Blair) who isn’t just a twin but what you’d call a mirror twin. Blair has her own issues that add to Emma’s. And then there’s  a building manager (Kurt) that is just creepy, he’s been seen coming out of there apartment when they aren’t home.. She’s in need of knee surgery she refuses to get.

While Wyatt allows her to come back to visit Charlie, her curiousity is  peeked more and more about Wyatt and what his story is. She is one determined girl, she wants to know all she can about him, what makes him tick.  Will she uncover his secrets? Will she share hers?  Will all her questions destroy the budding relationship that might be starting between them?

This book is going to grab your heart, make you want to help all the unwanted, abandoned, and abused puppies out there and it’s going to make you want to grab Wyatt and pull him into a big old hug for what he’s been through.

I don’t do spoilers so I guess this review must come to end. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed when you read  this book. The author did a wonderful job portraying Wyatt’s  and Emma’s  story.

This reader would like to read more from S.D. Hendrickson!!! Thank you for writing such a wonderful heart melting book. I haven’t read a book like this in a long time. Great Job.
